1930: Maria Reiche (Paula Beer), born in Dresden, now lives in Peru with her friend Amy Meredith (Alice Dwyer). Together with Amy and the French archaeologist Paul (Guillaume Gallienne), she devotes herself to researching the millennia-old Nazca Lines. Her goal is to preserve the monumental floor paintings. But the deeper Maria delves into the fascination of these mysterious works of art, the further she distances herself from her former life.
